Sublimation Printing

Sublimation
Printing

Sublimation printing is a digital printing technique where designs are printed onto special paper using sublimation ink and then transferred to a substrate (like fabric or mugs) using heat and pressure, resulting in a permanent, vibrant, and durable print. Sublimation only works on certain materials. Please talk with staff to learn more.

Heat Pressing

The LINC location is equipped with a clamshell heat press (15”x15”), a hat press, and a cup press (Cylindrical, Tapered). Carbon Valley and Erie Makerspaces have their own standard heat presses.

The heat press is shared throughout the makerspace and is often used in conjunction with other machines. Please be patient as multiple patrons may be using the heat press at the same time.

Please note:

Maker services are not a substitute for a professional print shop or manufacturer. For professional and bulk projects, or for projects with a strict deadline, working with a professional is recommended

Projects may take longer than desired and are rarely finished in one session

Innovation Technicians are here to help, and at times they may need to step away to help another patron

Makerspaces are learning environments, and we encourage you to embrace the learning process

We are excited to have you in our space and eager to help, and we appreciate your understanding.
