A Message From Your PopUp Library Staff:
To our HPLD Community:
Unfortunately, we’ve decided to suspend our normal PopUp service until we are able to safely gather in large groups. This was a tough decision to make because we have been planning for our spring/summer season for months, and we were so excited to get back out to see you all. Until we can attend community events again, we will be using the PopUp to deliver library books and materials to those who can’t make it to the branches — feel free to honk or wave if you see us out and about! Rest assured that we’re planning great community experiences that we can’t wait to debut when the time comes.

Q: What is the PopUp Library?
The PopUp Library is a miniature mobile library that “pops up” at special events and engages library stakeholders in a positive way by providing activities, materials available for check out, and two-way conversations about the value of the High Plains Library District.
Q: How is it different from a Bookmobile?
A Bookmobile provides consistent, repeated visits to the same location on a scheduled basis, whereas the PopUp follows a more dynamic, one-time service model.
Q: How do I go about getting the PopUp Library to show up at my event?
On this webpage, there is a link to a request form under the header “Request a Visit”. This will bring you to a request form for all our Mobile Services units.
Q: Would the PopUp come to my birthday party?
As much fun as that would be (seriously, we love cake!), the PopUp Library cannot attend an individual’s private birthday event, like baby showers or weddings. We are seeking to build community and connect with as many people as possible, so while we cannot come to your birthday party, we would love to attend your neighborhood block party!
I work at a library and would like more technical/industry-type information. Where can I find that?

Q: Why is the PopUp the right choice for our communities?
The High Plains Library District is a very large district with diverse stakeholders. The PopUp helps to further the Library’s mission of helping to build community, by engaging different members of our community that are traditionally not reached by other Library services.
