Gardening in the 21st Century: Lawn Installation

Bluegrass doesn't have to be the enemy in an arid climate. You can still have a healthy, drought-tolerant lawn. It is important to put the right grass in the right place, plant the right amount, and install and maintain it using best management practices. Ruth Quade, Water Conservation Coordinator, City of Greeley, will present this program. This event will be held at Farr Regional Library on May 22, at 6:30 pm; and streamed live in Erie Community Library.

Conversation with the Author: Kerstin Lieff

Join us at Erie Community Library on May 21, at 7 pm, for a reading and conversation with local author Kerstin Lieff. Kerstin will read from her book "Letters from Berlin: Coming of Age and Falling in Love in War-torn Germany." A book signing will follow. Kerstin Lieff was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in the winter of 1952 just after her parents fled their German homeland. Drawing on hundreds of hours of taped interviews with her mother, Kerstin Lieff has recreated Margarete's story from her childhood and her child's eye view of the rise and fall of the Reich through the family's increasingly desperate circumstances as the war's end neared. A vivid recreation of a largely untold side of the war story.
